 A ranking of the top-15 greatest composers of all time sees Richard Wagner (1813-1883) as n° 4 - in the heels of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven.

"Wagner only wrote operas, which he termed 'music dramas'.  But of them, his finest masterpieces are Tannhäuser, Lohengrin in which you’ll find the world famous 'Here Comes the Bride' theme, Tristan und Isolde which some consider his finest achievement, Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg, Parsifal, and his gargantuan four-opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen."

Icons of Europe has developed a research paper for Wagner 2013 on "Wagner and Symbolism". It reveals the secret about who commissioned Lohengrin and why the last scene was revised in 1850.Why did Wagner revise the very last scene of Lohengrin in 1850? P.S.  Grace Moore sings Casta Diva in a 1930 film.  She died in
a plane crash in 1947 on her way to Stockholm.  Jenny Lind sang
Norma last time as opera in Stockholm 12 April 1848.
